Site History Eraser

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Site History Eraser uses Chrome's history permission for one purpose: deleting visits to websites you have chosen.

To find those visits, it checks visit addresses (and, for keyword rules, page titles) on your device, only to match them against your list.

It does not collect, store, transmit or sell your browsing history or any personal data.

Your list of chosen sites and rules is stored in Chrome's storage and syncs only through your own Chrome account if Chrome sync is on.

A simple local counter of removed entries is stored on your device. If you set a PIN, only a salted hash of it is stored, on that device only.

If you use “Wipe cookies & site data”, cookies and stored data for the sites you choose are deleted on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

The only network request is the Pro license check: when you activate History Eraser Pro (version 1.1 and later), your license key is sent to Gumroad, the payment provider, to verify it, and it is re-checked about once a week. Nothing else is sent. The extension stores only the key, when it was last verified and Gumroad's activation count; no email address or name.

Without Pro, the extension makes no network requests.
